BEIJING, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- National archers Mohd Salam Sidik and Zulkifli Mat Zin successfully concluded the first elimination round and will see action in the second round Thursday.
Mohd Salam who is ranked eighth defeated Antonio Lisotta (Italy) by 97-90 while Zulkifli (ranked 12) beat Miroslav Kacina of Slovakia 96-83.
"They have to stay more cool and if we get past the second elimination round tomorrow, our medal prospects are much brighter," coach Johari Abu Bakar told Bernama.
Thursday, Mohd Salam will meet Jung Yong-joo of South Korea who is ranked ninth in the world while Zulkifli will take on the hosts' Cheng Changjie (ranked 5th).
